TechCrunch has recently reported that Google Chrome Os might be released in a month.Google gave a shock wave to Microsoft a year ago with the news of its launch of new operating system. Many believe Google Chrome Os will replace Windows Os popularity after its release.
TechCrunch has reported that developers are already testing the Chrome OS Release Candidate (RC), which means Google may finally announce the finished product no later than next month.Chrome Os is a cloud-centric operating system.
Several posts from a Google employee have been spotted at Chrome OS Code site that indicates a November 11 release date. In response to a question about a specific feature, the employee wrote, “we will push this after November 11″. The date was mentioned again on his or her other post.
There are some guesses that Google Chrome OS is on the horizon. One is the Chrome Web Store that will be launched this October. There is also the rumored Google tablet computer that may also be released in November. Lastly, developers are now busy working on the screensavers, login screens, highlight colors, and other user interface elements, which is a telltale sign that most of the important under-the-hood features are pretty much done.
Google Chrome Os a new revolution in Operating System. It will be lightweight and launching at lightening Speed 😉 .Google make Technology simple 😉
The statement by Proteine “hope Chrome OS will have better compatibility than Linux” is somewhat unfounded. Again, the Windows fanboys misrepresent Linux by just dropping a verbal bombshell and can’t back it up with anything.
I have two flatbed scanners originally sold for Windows 95 and 98 respectively. Trying to get them to work in a modern version of Windows is next to impossible. When I load up Linux, Xsane detected both scanners, no sweat and no waiting for stupid, huge drivers to load either.
Compatibility is a relative thing. Each any every device you attach to a Windows machine needs a ton of drivers. The CD-ROM disc or web site often contains accompanying software you don’t need or want. Linux bypasses all that stupidity and give you the real “meat and potatoes”.
Google’s O/S will be faulted right from day one from all the Windows lovers. As a work in progress, it won’t be perfect. But the concept is sound, and revolutionary compared to a massive, bloatware-ish O/S like Win7.
Once people see how ugly Window 8 is going to be, Google’s O/S is sure to please the eye and the pocketbook. It’s ultimate success will be highly dependent on marketing, and shifting people’s perceptions away from the word “Linux”. Removing their built-in bias that Linux is lacking somehow, or too technical to deal with is just bogus baggage that needs to be snuffed out.
A tablet or laptop that’ll “boot up” in a few seconds is what end-users want and need. We can’t wait forever for Microsoft or Apple to come up with that concept. Good luck Google…. sock it to ’em!
You damn right, Google keeps all things as Top Secret ^^
Hope we could try it soon ! And i hope Chrome OS will have better compatibility than Linux !
Google Keeps everything as Top Secret 😉
Great news Praveen. Any reliable source from where i can find more info. Looks like everyone is desperately waiting for Chrome OS. Though i have heard that it will be limited to only internet browsing and support basic file system. You can’t expect you run all softwares with them.
Me too waiting for Chrome Os 🙂
We are waiting this introduction in technology. I am fond of using advancement like Google Chrome OS.
